BSPC is the parliamentary Baltic Sea collaboration, bringing together parliamentarians from national and regional parliaments, along with parliamentary organisations from around the Baltic Sea region.

"The BSPC and the region itself are key to the climate debate. This is a collaboration that can be used as a lever for innovative solutions to the benefit of the entire region. Denmark will use the presidency to put a number of key issues on the agenda, and with the imminent induction of Finland and hopefully Sweden soon in NATO, the opportunities for defense collaboration for the entire region will be changed.
Russia’s war against Ukraine showed the vulnerability of energy supplies for the Baltic Sea region, which is highly dependent on Russian gas. We must find sustainable solutions and create forms of energy supply that are independent of Russia”, says the newly-elected President of the BSPC, Henrik Møller.

This is the first time that Denmark has held the presidency of the BSPC. The presidency period is for one year, and the priorities for the Danish presidency will be Baltic security, including within energy supply, climate and defense. The committee meets quarterly, three times for committee meetings and once for the annual conference, usually held in the country holding the presidency. During the Danish presidency, one committee meeting will be held in Denmark and the actual BSPC conference will also be held here, including a youth conference.
