Under the Web Accessibility Act, the so-called Lov om tilgængelighed af offentlige organers websteder og mobilapplikationer, the Danish Parliament is obliged to make accessible the website https://www.thedanishparliament.dk/

How to report accessibility problems pertaining to https://www.thedanishparliament.dk/

You may notify a public institution if their website does not comply with the requirements of the Danish Web Accessibility Act. You may also request information about the potential non-compliance of website content pursuant to section 1, subsection 5 (exempted content), and section 3, subsection 2 (disproportionate burden).

Status of compliance

A public institution is obliged to state the extent to which their website complies with the web accessibility requirements stipulated in the harmonised standard EN 301 549. Status of compliance falls into three categories:

  1. The website is fully compliant.
  2. The website is partially compliant (adheres to most requirements).
  3. The website is non-compliant (does not adhere to most requirements).

Website compliance according to the public institution: The website is fully compliant. 

The public institution must furthermore describe how they evaluated their website. Here are the three categories:

  1. The website was evaluated by the public institution itself.
  1. The website was evaluated by an external party.
  1. The website was evaluated by another method.

The method of evaluation according to the public institution: The website was evaluated by an external party.

A description of the evaluation process according to the public institution: The Danish Parliament is a part of the multisite solution for the websites of the Danish Parliament. In December 2020, the websites underwent an external evaluation. Anomalies will be rectified on a continuous basis.

The public institution has the option of referring to any evaluation reports that may exist.

The public institution has categorised the non-accessible content on this website. Each category comprises a number of topics shown by a headline and explanatory text. One example of such a topic would be the lack of an alternative text option.

Non-accessible content is divided into three categories related to either function or content that:

  1. Does not comply with the Web Accessibility Act.
  2. Does not comply with the Web Accessibility Act and falls within the exemption of disproportionate burden, e.g. an extensive report or a guidance paper with a small readership.
  3. Is not subject to the Web Accessibility Act, e.g. subtitles for live videos.

Initiatives to optimise web accessibility

The public institution may describe the measures they have taken to improve web accessibility on the website.

Web accessibility description by the public institution: The Danish Parliament continuously monitors the web accessibility across our public websites by carrying out an external evaluation, usually every other year. Wherever possible, the external evaluation is accompanied by corrective action.
