Experience the restaurant

Far above the roofs of Copenhagen and every other eatery in the city, the restaurant in the Tower brings life to the Danish Parliament’s old box room.

Food and drink

The Tower’s most spectacular room is devoted to a restaurant that accommodates about 100 guests. The décor features plaster busts and statues.

From the enormous window, there are breath-taking views over the roofs of Copenhagen, the palace courtyard and the Royal Stables Wing.

The queue for the restaurant is for guests who have booked in advance and for those hoping to get a vacant table. Restaurant staff prioritise guests who have booked in advance. Even if you have pre-booked, we recommend that you arrive in good time as queues and waiting time at the entrance to the Tower are to be expected.

The Décor

A narrow concrete staircase enhances the dimensions of this space. The staircase leads to the next floor and underlines the immensity of the 11-metre-high ceiling. Specially designed benches inserted into the niches highlight the monumental dimensions of the walls.

The octagonal bench at the centre of the room covers the dome that forms the ceiling over the Finance Committee Room below – still one of the most important chambers at Christiansborg Palace. This room was originally destined to become the King’s bedroom.

The Tower's spire is embellished with 8 copper figures created by sculptor Axel Locher (1879-1941). The 3.10-metre figures depict men and women at work. In the restaurant, there are full-size plaster models of two of these figures: a forester carrying an axe and a rope, and a dairymaid churning butter.
