Queen Margrethe II and other members of the royal family arrived at Christiansborg and were welcomed by the Speaker of the Danish Parliament, Henrik Dam Kristensen (S). At precisely 12.00, the longest sitting member of the Danish Parliament, Bertel Haarder (V), began the opening meeting.

After the election of the Presidium, Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen (S) gave her opening address.
