Anne-Margrethe Baastrup, born April 7th 1952 in Aalborg. Married. Has three children and five grandchildren.
Former spokeswoman on transport, health, education, working environment policy, psychiatry, naturalization and transport. Chairwoman of the Social Affairs Committee 2012, the Legal Affairs Committee from 2011 and 2001-2005, vice-chairwoman 1998-2001. Vice-chairwoman of the Immigration and Integration Affairs Committee 2009-2010. Former member of the Health Committee, the Transport Committee, the Housing and Urban Affairs Committee, the Naturalization Committee, the Immigration and Integration Affairs Committee, the Committee on the Faroe Islands, the Greenland Affairs Committee, the Scrutineers' Committee and the Committee on the Danish Intelligence Services. Former member of the Nordic Council. Former chariwoman of the parliamentary group of the Socialist People's Party.
Member of the Socialist People's Party from 1987. Active in the field of school policy in Copenhagen until 1994. Member of the central board of the Socialist People's Party 1992-2001. Member of the 'Fonden for Socialt Ansvar', and 'Syddansk Erhvervsskole'.
Has participated in the public debate through articles, lectures, and contributions to books, etc.
Recieved the SL (The National Federation of Social Educators) award in 2004.
